Community Legal Education Ontario (CLEO)

CLEO is a community legal clinic that produces clear language material for people with low incomes. Main topics include social assistance, landlord and tenant law, refugee and immigration law, workers' compensation, women's issues, family law, employment insurance and human rights.

Community Advocacy & Legal Centre

The Community Advocacy & Legal Centre (formerly known as Hastings and Prince Edward Legal Services) is a non-profit community legal clinic serving a large area in eastern Ontario.  This website carries a wealth of general information regarding issues relating to poverty law.

Arch: Disability Law Centre

ARCH: A Legal Resource Centre for Persons with Disabilities is a specialty legal aid clinic dedicated to defending and advancing the equality-rights of persons with disabilities. ARCH proceeds on the following premises: Persons with disabilities are confronted with unique legal challenges; Persons with disabilities must have control over their own lives;A cross-disability approach to advocacy issues is essential, but it is equally important to recognize and respect difference; Persons with disabilities may also face disadvantage due to other reasons such as their gender, race, age economic status and sexual orientation, compounding their experience of discrimination or exclusion.

Advocacy Centre for Tenants Ontario (ACTO)

The Advocacy Centre for Tenants Ontario (ACTO) works to better the housing situation of Ontario residents who have low incomes including tenants, co-op members and people who are homeless. ACTO works with legal clinics, tenant associations and other groups and individuals concerned about housing issues

Advocacy Centre for the Elderly (ACE)

The Advocacy Centre for the Elderly (ACE) is a community based legal clinic for low-income senior citizens. ACE provides direct legal services to low-income seniors, public legal education, and engages in law reform activities. ACE services and activities are in relation to areas of law of special importance to the seniors' population.

Income Security Advocacy Centre (ISAC)

The Income Security Advocacy Centre works with and on behalf of low income communities in Ontario to address issues of income security and poverty. The Centre initiates and conducts test case and Charter litigation, law reform and community development related to federal and provincial income security programs such as Ontario Works, the Ontario Disability Support Program, Employment Insurance and the Canada Pension Plan. 

Justice for Children and Youth

Justice for Children and Youth provides legal representation to low-income children and youth in Toronto and vicinity.  We are a non-profit legal aid clinic that specializes in protecting the rights of those facing conflicts with the legal system, education, social service or mental health systems. We give summary legal advice, information and assistance to young people, parents (in education matters), professionals and community groups across Ontario.

Kenora Community Legal Clinic

The Kenora Community Legal Clinic provides services to Kenora, Ear Falls, Perrault Falls, Red Lake, Vermilion Bay, Sioux Narrows, Redditt and Minaki, as well as to 13 First Nations in the Kenora District.The Clinic assists low income clients with problems in areas such as housing (eviction or repairs and maintenance), social assistance (Ontario Works and Ontario Disability Support Program), Criminal Injuries Compensation, Canada Pension Plan disability, denial of Employment Insurance benefits, delayed birth certificates, and status applications. We also provide basic advice or direction for a broad range of topics.

West Scarborough Community Legal Services

West Scarborough Community Legal Services is a legal aid clinic funded by Legal Aid Ontario since 1988 and is one of 2 legal aid clinics in Scarborough, Ontario, Canada (now part of the City of Toronto). We offer a variety of legal services to low income residents who live in 'west' Scarborough and who qualify financially. The clinic is administered by a volunteer Board of Directors, who are elected from our membership.  Our mission is: West Scarborough Community Legal Services exists to provide lower-income persons access to the legal system and to promote social justice through legal education, advice, representation, advocacy and community partnerships.
